New Creations Hugo
Literacy is key in a child’s overall success both in and out of the classroom. Here at Hugo, our curriculum allows children multiple opportunities to grow and develop by implementing kindergarten-readiness standards. Literacy-based concepts are used throughout the day within large group discussions, small group centers, and outdoor play. This, along with a structured classroom environment, creates authentic learning experiences and allows all children to be successful.
MEET OUR STAFF
Director: Stef M.
Ms. Stef is originally from Wilmar, Minnesota and a graduate of UMD double majoring in Sociology & Criminology with a minor in Psychology. She currently resides just south of Hugo with her husband and three boys. They enjoy spending their weekends at the cabin, in her husband’s hometown of Hibbing, and at the Children’s Museum in St. Paul. Ms. Stef originally joined our team as a part of the School Age program in 2012 but quickly stepped into the role as one of our directors. Ms. Stef values the relationships she builds each day with the families and children of New Creations and loves that her boys are also close-knit members within our NC family.
Director / Preschool: Lawren A.
Ms. Lawren is our lady of many trades at Hugo as she serves as one of our center’s directors, our lead preschool teacher, and our curriculum coordinator. She has spent over 7 years with our program and truly values the lifelong learning relationships she builds with students and their families; she especially enjoys when our former students stop in for a visit or hearing about our former and current student’s successes in primary school. Ms. Lawren really enjoys discovering different ways to help children learn by using interactive experiments and projects to really make early childhood education an “hands-on” experience. Outside of New Creations, Ms. Lawren lives in beautiful downtown Stillwater and enjoys traveling, working her “side gig” at a local golf course, and spending time with her family and friends in her free time.
Infant 1: Ms. Ryann
Ms. Ryann has been apart of our infant program for over 12 years. She loves how quickly the infants change and develop on a daily basis. Ryann enjoys arts and crafts in her free time as well as watching her husband’s cover band on the weekends. Ryann’s skills are irreplaceable within our program; we couldn’t find a more compassionate person for our little infants.
Infant 2: Ms. Sasha
Ms. Sasha is a resident of Stillwater, Minnesota. In June of 2019 Ms. Sasha graduated from Rasmussen College with a degree in Applied Science with a specialty in Early Childhood Development. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys nature walks, four wheeling, and spending time outdoors. She also hopes to one day live on a hobby farm. Her favorite thing about working at New Creations is being able to be apart of each child’s growth and development.
Toddlers: Ms. Kallie
Ms. Kallie is a graduate of Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas with a Masters Degree in Social Work. Ms. Kallie has worked within our Infant and Toddler program for the last three years she has a passion for working with children of all ages and cannot imagine working in a space not surrounded by children. She enjoys watching sports with her husband Brandon and their two dogs, Oakley & Miley, on the weekends; they also love to go boating.
Preschool Prep: Ms. Mary
Ms. Mary is our resident Packer fan at New Creations Hugo; she loves animals, cabin trips, camping, and being surrounded by her family. She lives just north of Hugo in Forest Lake, Minnesota with her husband, Dusty, and their two children Kayla and Carter. Ms. Mary has been apart of our program since her move to Minnesota in 2015 and is a valued leader of our Preschool Prep team. Ms. Mary loves to watch the children’s faces when they learn new concepts within the classroom or out on the playground.
School Age: Ms. Judi
Ms. Judi has worked with our School Age program for many years after homeschooling and raising her seven children. Ms. Judi is a primary component to our program as a whole as she assists teachers in prepping our daily curriculum so each of our classroom’s daily success can continue. Ms. Judi’s favorite thing about working with our school-age program is instilling a lifelong love for learning in each of our students. Ms. Judi loves geography and history both teaching it to our school-agers as well as embarking on travels with her husband of 42 years, Greg. In 2020 they celebrated traveling to all 50 states.
