At New Creations Child Care, we are excited to shine a light on the exceptional educators who play a crucial role in shaping our children's futures. Each year, we celebrate individuals who have gone the extra mile in their roles, and this year is no different. Join us as we honor our annual award winners, each of whom exemplifies dedication, creativity, and passion in their work.



Central Teacher of the Year: Mariah Maxey (Blaine)

This individual has been awarded Teacher of the Year for her unwavering commitment to her students. Mariah ensures every child feels seen and supported. Her innovative approach to education not only fosters individual growth but also cultivates a love for learning. Mariah's excellence hasn't gone unnoticed. She has been selected twice for observation during our Parent Aware Accreditation process, significantly contributing to our 4-star rating—a testament to her dedication and the vibrant classroom environment she fosters.


West Teacher of the Year: Malaysia Gilster (Brooklyn Park)

This individual has been awarded Teacher of the Year for her unwavering dedication, passion for teaching, and the positive impact she has on each of the children in her care.


Iowa Teacher of the Year: Sofia (Waukee)

This individual has been awarded Teacher of the Year for her outstanding commitment and impactful contributions to the New Creations family. Sofia goes above and beyond every single day. She brings patience, creativity, compassion, and joy into the classroom. Her dedication to our children, families, and team does not go unnoticed.


South Teacher of the Year: Mikala Ott (Crocus Hill)

This individual has been awarded Teacher of the Year for her unwavering dedication, passion for teaching, and the positive impact she has on each of the children in her care.


CDD Rookie of the Year: Jordan Fountain (Ankeny)

This individual has been awarded CDD Rookie of the Year for her outstanding commitment and impactful contributions to the New Creations family. Since her transition to the Ankeny location, she has played a key role in improving their education score while bringing a fresh, forward-thinking perspective. Her dedication, professionalism, and positive representation of New Creations make her a true asset to the team.


Director Rookie of the Year: Becca Doll (St. Michael)

This individual has been awarded Director Rookie of the Year for her exceptional leadership, guiding her location to a zero-violation annual licensing visit in her very first year. Her consistent positivity and warm smile uplift the entire center and have been instrumental in shaping a strong, supportive culture at St. Michael. Becca’s passion and dedication shine through in every aspect of her role, making her an inspiring leader and invaluable part of the team.


Health & Safety of the Year: Heather Schroeder (Hugo)

This person has been awarded Health and Safety Specialist of the Year for her unwavering dedication to protecting every child in our care. Her flexibility, strong teamwork, and consistent ability to meet deadlines ensure that all safety protocols are not only met but exceeded. Heather’s leadership sets the gold standard for a safe and supportive environment for both children and staff.


CDD of the Year: Sara Grewe (Riverdale)

This individual has been named CDD of the Year for her consistent, resilient leadership and unwavering dedication to the Riverdale location. Her commitment to educational excellence is evident in the way she ensures standards are met and training is effectively delivered each month. The CDD team is stronger, more united, and better because of Sara’s presence and partnership.


Director of the Year: Kayla Ludwig (Lino Lakes)

This individual has been awarded Director of the Year for her steadfast leadership and proven belief that teamwork truly makes the dream work. As a key partner across every department—from Quality Assurance to Education—she plays an essential role in her program’s continued success. Her talent for building strong, relatable relationships allows her to hold meaningful accountability, successfully leading Lino Lakes to the highest standards and serving as an outstanding representation of what New Creations strives to highlight.


Center of the Year: Rush Creek

This location has been awarded Center of the Year for going above and beyond through exceptional teamwork, a commitment to center-wide goals, and continuous improvement in the quality of programming across all areas. The positive culture they've built together is a true reflection of their dedication and unity. It’s clear that the remarkable transition and success of this location could not have been achieved without the strength of the entire team.
